I help people find the story they’re trying to tell and I leave them with a boatload of tips and tools they can use for every story they ever want to tell.
My workshops are planned rather meticulously, but I work interactively and without a rigid script, because the most useful thing I can do is meet people where they actually are, not where I assumed they'd be.
What I've learned from a career of both writing and teaching writing is that people usually don't need more information — they need someone who can help them see what they already have and where to go next. That's what I try to do.
