Bill's writing life began in New Orleans with his decision to write a novella while pursuing his MA in Literature. He later adapted that manuscript into the feature screenplay, REDMOND, which went on to win the award for BEST SCREENPLAY at the IFP Market in New York City. His next original screenplay, THE LONG BLUE YONDER, was a semi-finalist for the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting and was selected for Hollywood's BLACK LIST.
His debut as a writer/director came with the short film, One Year Down, which premiered the same year as his stage musical, YOU AGAIN (a Musical about Cloning), which he wrote, produced, and directed at the The New York International Fringe Festival. His collaboration with director John Hyams (Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning) resulted in The Ignorant Bliss of Sun and Moon, a short film adapted from one of Bill's short stories by the same name.
In 2013, his first produced feature film, +1 (aka PLUS ONE), was selected as a NY Times Critic's Pick. In September of 2014, THE QUITER, premiered in New York to positive reviews. Soon after, he launched his original comedic web series, COUPLES. In 2017, First Look Media optioned his script, BASTARD, with Academy Award nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto attached to direct and Martin Scorsese Executive Producing.
In addition to his screenwriting, he works as a freelance writing consultant, helping writers, producers, and directors conceptualize, develop, and execute their ideas.
